With a fascination for the Middle Ages, Italian designer Riccardo Gil Ferraro has created a thoroughly original deck with a modern medieval aesthetic.
Having collected esoteric and Marseilles style tarot decks, Ferraro was intent on creating a deck with simple, accessible symbols for today’s readers. Medieval Mischief Tarot provides elemental and astrological correlations within whimsical drawings on borderless and wordless cards. Kings, knights, damsels, and demons show you the path to self-knowledge.

What is tarot?
The tarot cards are playing cards mainly used for divination purposes. Invented in the 1430s, the tarot spread originated in Italy, and quickly spread throughout the rest of Europe.
Practitioners use the cards to gain insight into the past, present, and future, using their intuition to apply the meaning of the cards to particular situations. Although tarot is a structured form of cartomancy, many readers branch out and develop their own unique methods of reading.
The most recognizable tarot deck is the Rider-Waite-Smith, published in 1909. Today, many tarot creators choose to follow the Rider format and adhere to tradition, although the imagery may be modernized.
